causes of the civil war

The main reasons of the civil war are economy, slavery, and state rights. the economy was failing because slavery was being abolished and slaves didn't have to work on plantations any more. slavery is the biggest cause of the civil war because people were starting to realize that slaves have rights too. many slave free states joined the union but the confederate states still wanted slavery laws. state rights is another cause to the civil war because slave owners said that if their slaves went into a free state they were not free. all of these causes split America into two sides. 

 
 

the life's of soldiers

the southern soldiers were usually hungry because their food supply was scarce. Confederate soldiers were usually armed with rifled muskets. many of the soldiers were wounded and there were not enough doctors for everybody. They were dressed in a grey and blue uniform.

the northern soldiers were usually young and around 20-30 years old. this army had a good amount of resources compared to the confederate soldiers. these soldiers were mostly out of actions so their days were filled with training and meal times.

music during the civil war 

The music during the civil war was important because it boosted the enthusiasm of the soldiers. the instruments were usually just different kinds of drums. This type of music played during the civil war inspired a lot of musical artists today. These armies would have bands marching with them to give them courage and confidence. most of the band members didn't carry weapons on to the field so it was very dangerous for them.

 

role of women during the civil war

women were very important during the civil war because they contributed a lot. Women sewed the soldiers uniforms and also repaired them. Women also went to the camps to work as nurses and helped to save lives. a handful of women actually dressed up as men just to fight in the war. these women who pretended to be men were very brave and believed in equality. Clara Barton is an example of a nurse, she then created the American red cross.

reconstruction plans

after the civil war the president started to reconstruct the south. this plan was going to reunite america as a whole. this plan was also going to abolish slaverly. some people did not agree with these laws so they formed groups like the ku-klux-klan. this reconstruction freed a lot of slaves and improved the united states laws.

what did the civil war teach america?

I think that the civil war taught america several things. The civil war taught america about equal rights and slavery. The civil war also taught that making something illegal will ot stop it.
